Rabbit’s Nest

As a kid, I always hated brushing my hair.
It hurt a lot and always got messy again, and damn it, I would rather be doing much more important things like making mud potions with my little brother or building pillow forts. My mom used to always tell me (and my grandmother still tells me…) that my hair “looks like a rat’s nest”.

Well. I think I figured out the problem!

The rabbits would’ve benefitted from a drop shadow on you and a reflection on the wall of the rabbit on your shoulder would’ve really lent it some more credibility.

But the palette is sweet and the concept very spot on – who hasn’t found themselves in a bathroom with rabbits on their shoulders after one party or the other? ;-P

      Thanks for your suggestions!
I did consider adding a drop shadow to create a more realistic effect, but I found that I liked the graphic tension between the flatly drawn bunnies and the photograph. It reminded me of how kids (actually, adults too) love to deface photos with their own doodles and alterations, and as a result, I wasn’t necessarily looking to present a “believable” scene.
